Indoor and Outdoor Sports Flooring Maintenance

Routine maintenance keeps sports floors safe and keeps court line markings visible. We offer scheduled cleaning, inspection and minor remedial work for indoor and outdoor sports flooring across schools, condominiums and commercial sports facilities in Singapore.

Sports flooring is built from durable materials, but it still wears under daily use. Dust, dirt, sweat, leaves, debris, sunlight and rain all gradually degrade the surface. Line markings fade most quickly in high-traffic zones such as basketball keys, badminton service areas and futsal goal mouths. Regular maintenance slows this wear and protects the line markings between repaint cycles.

Synthetic artificial grass maintenance

Synthetic grass is popular for outdoor multi-sport areas, mini-soccer and futsal pitches in Singapore. The infill needs to remain evenly distributed, fibres need to be brushed upright, and any debris (leaves, grit) must be removed. We brush, vacuum and de-compact infill, top up where required, and check the line tape inserts that form the markings on synthetic grass courts.

Indoor sports court maintenance

Indoor courts in schools, condominiums and gyms benefit from a planned cleaning schedule that does not interfere with usage. Our schedules are typically aligned with school holidays or low-use periods. Maintenance includes:

  • Damp mopping with cleaners compatible with the floor finish.
  • Spot inspection for hollow boards, loose tiles or lifting seams.
  • Inspection of line markings for visible wear, scuff or peel.
  • Touch-up of high-wear line sections so an early intervention prevents a full repaint.

Outdoor sports flooring maintenance

Outdoor courts on acrylic-coated concrete or asphalt are most affected by sun, rain and algae growth. We carry out periodic cleaning, biocide treatment for algae, sealer top-ups in worn areas and crack-monitoring on the substrate. Where coating wear exceeds typical thresholds we recommend a recoat and full line repaint rather than continued patching. See repair and repainting.

Gym floor maintenance

Gym floors — rubber rolls and tiles, weightlifting platforms and timber floors used for functional training — need surface cleaning, joint inspection and (for timber) periodic polish and sanding. See floor polish and sanding.

Floor polish and sanding within maintenance

For timber sports floors, light screening or sanding followed by a fresh polyurethane finish is one of the most effective maintenance procedures. It restores the protective top layer, evens out surface scratches and refreshes the appearance of the line markings beneath the finish. Frequency depends on usage intensity; high-use halls may need this every 2 to 5 years.

Customised maintenance plans

We tailor plans to the facility — for example a school hall might need quarterly inspection and an annual line touch-up, while a busy condominium futsal court may need monthly cleaning during the monsoon months. Quotations are based on the floor area, surface type, usage intensity and access constraints. Contact us with the floor details to receive a maintenance plan proposal.
